  11. Hello,
  12.     I am having a problem getting my Sporster to detect a dial tone when
  13. connecting to my service provider. I use the Trumpet Winsock dialler
  14. to connect. When I run the login script, I get an audible dial tone
  15. from the modem speaker and then the dialer comes back with NO DIALTONE
  16. after about two seconds and hangs up. It takes anywhere from 10 to 20
  17. tries before the modem successfully dials. I'm not sure if there is
  18. something missing in my initialization string (see below) or if there
  19. is something wrong with the phone line. (The connection to the wall
  20. jack is two 25 ft. cords. I am suspecting that this may be the
  21. problem)

  23.     I went through the Navas FAQ and read the manual for tips on
  24. troubleshooting this, but nothing seemed to apply. If anybody has had
  25. any success in solving this sort of problem, please forward a reply.
