- Hello,
- I am having a problem getting my Sporster to detect a dial tone when
- connecting to my service provider. I use the Trumpet Winsock dialler
- to connect. When I run the login script, I get an audible dial tone
- from the modem speaker and then the dialer comes back with NO DIALTONE
- after about two seconds and hangs up. It takes anywhere from 10 to 20
- tries before the modem successfully dials. I'm not sure if there is
- something missing in my initialization string (see below) or if there
- is something wrong with the phone line. (The connection to the wall
- jack is two 25 ft. cords. I am suspecting that this may be the
- problem)
-
- I went through the Navas FAQ and read the manual for tips on
- troubleshooting this, but nothing seemed to apply. If anybody has had
- any success in solving this sort of problem, please forward a reply.
